A line on West Ham now from Giuseppe Muro, who reports that the club is in talks to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Sebastien Haller…

“Hi guys, yes – the Hammers are desperate to sign a striker and have targeted £40million-rated Haller after missing out on Maxi Gomez, who yesterday finalised his move from Celta Vigo to Valencia.

“West Ham hope to agree a fee with Eintracht Frankfurt for Haller and persuade the 25-year-old to move to the London Stadium.
Haller scored 20 goals in 41 games in Germany last season. West Ham has turned to the former France Under-21 international in their search for a new forward after selling Marko Arnautovic to Shanghai SIPG for £22.5million and losing out in the race to sign Gomez.
“West Ham director of football Mario Husillos is with the Hammers squad on their pre-season tour in China but negotiations are set to continue this week
“Manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to sign at least one striker before the transfer window closes. Javier Hernandez and Jordan Hugill are the only senior strikers at West Ham following the departures of Arnautovic, Andy Carroll and Lucas Perez.
Hernandez had been looking to leave but the Mexican is now expected to remain at West Ham next season. Hugill is set to move to the Championship in the coming weeks.
“West Ham arrived in China on Sunday ahead of the Premier League Asia Trophy. They are due to face Manchester City on Wednesday but Pep Guardiola’s side face a race against time to arrive in time for the friendly after their flight was cancelled twice over the weekend.”
