Establishing its handset department in  July 2003  Huawei exhibited China’s first WCDMA mobile phone at the 3GSM Conference in Cannes, France.

Our investigations did not delve into how the phone performed, but AJNews Technology Department Team has established that since Huawei started their handset assemblage, there has been improvement.

Fast forward into March 2011, Huawei chalked a landmark success in the history of the company. The company sold over one million C8500 smartphones in China within 100 days after it was launched officially. That is a breaking point in the development of business especially one that has ventured into a new area of business.

5 months later the company introduced the world’s first cloud-enabled smartphone, Huawei  has since been favorite of most photo lovers who have just little to spend on  an expensive looking mobile device like Huawei.

The brand’s network covers one-third of the world’s population with over 340 million mobile service users. 

In 2017, for instance, the brand collected in excess of 92 billion dollars in revenue with a shipment of 153 million smartphones. In 2018, Huawei sold over 6 million of its P20 series in 3 months.

Currently, the company holds the number 2 position in global market share; number 1 in China and number 2 in the Middle East and Africa.

The firm currently runs 15 R and D centres, 36 Joint Innovation Centres and it prides itself as the number 1  Patent Filer in Europe.

Beginning 2019,  Huawei launched its 5G multi-mode chipset, the Balong 5000, and the first commercial 5G device powered by it, the Huawei 5G CPE Pro.
These new products will provide consumers with a brand new 5G experience across multiple scenarios.

As if it was not enough,  Huawei launched the HUAWEI Mate X, which is the world’s fastest 5G foldable phone. The HUAWEI Mate X won GSMA’s “Best New Connected Mobile Device at Mobile World Congress 2019”, the most important award presented.

The HUAWEI Mate X features a Falcon Wing Mechanical Hinge design, 7nm multi-mode modem chipset (Kirin 980 + Balong 5000), and a high-capacity 4,500 mAh battery supporting the world’s fastest 55 W HUAWEI SuperCharge.
Huawei also introduced the updated HUAWEI MateBook X Pro, HUAWEI MateBook 13 and MateBook 14. These products deliver outstanding high-speed connectivity to users and bring a hyper connected experience closer than ever before.

In March,  Huawei rewrote the rules of photography with the groundbreaking HUAWEI P30 Series that features the innovative HUAWEI Super Spectrum Sensor, an optical Super Zoom Lens (5X optical zoom, 10X hybrid zoom and up to 50X digital zoom), a new HUAWEI ToF (Time of Flight) camera, and the enhanced optical and AI image stabilization technology. With these revolutionary technologies, the HUAWEI P30 and HUAWEI P30 Pro can capture incredible photos and videos in every scenario.

The brand’s release of cutting edge and quality products for every pocket has gradually made the mobile device giant the favorite of Africa.

In Ghana, Huawei has ignited the spirit of photography, and the demand for quality among consumers of the product.

Out of 50 people of low-income level spoken to as to what their dream phone was, 66% specifically mentioned Huawei owing to its smart camera, affordability and robust nature. The others chose brands like Infinix, techno and others.

Similarly, 58% out of 50 middle income persons spoken said Huawei is their choice due the picture qualities and the model. They mentioned specific models like Y9 Prime.
