Churches in the Upper West, unlike churches in the  South, are taking kilos of maize and other cereals as offering.

 A visit to the Power of God Ministry in Jirapa Municipality by a team from revealed that most people, especially women, have no money to offer as an offering but have instead fetched their farm produce to be given as offering.

God-loving women who have devoted their time and resources to the service of God bring buckets of maize or a quarter sack of maize every Sunday to serve God.

Speaking to a church member, she says poverty is endemic in their community and the only way to please God is to bring part of their farm produce as an offering to the most High God.

Young girls and boys who have not farmed on their own have to plead with their parents to give them some corn for offering. | Justice Felix Ametepe
